What is the bartender tip for a Mimosa?
The IBA calls for 75 ml orange juice and 75 ml prosecco — equal parts. Brut (or extra brut) balances the juice; demi-sec or Asti makes the Mimosa cloying. Fresh juice, strained if you want a clean glass; boxed juice works in a pinch. Cava, prosecco, and domestic sparkling wine all stand in for champagne. No ice in the flute: the drink arrives cold from the chilled ingredients and the bubbles last. A splash of Cointreau or Grand Marnier makes it a Grand Mimosa — the classic recipe skips the liqueur. The catalog's Red Mimosa swaps the sparkling wine for red wine and soda.
