What is the bartender tip for a Purple Margarita?
100% agave blanco lets the vegetal note show; mixto disappears behind the blackberry. The 20 ml of syrup already sweetens it — that is why the orange liqueur stays at 10 ml, not the 20 ml of a classic Margarita. 25 ml of lime holds the sweetness; if the syrup is very thick, squeeze 5 ml more. Cointreau covers the orange liqueur. A half salt rim balances the sweetness. Chilled coupe, no ice in the glass. It is not the classic Margarita (triple sec, no blackberry), the Bramble (gin and jam on the rocks), or the Blackberry Smash (bourbon and mint).
